These are soft faux leather that look and feel quite nice. They're much better than some cheap yet more expensive pads available locally at auto parts stores and big chain stores. I liked the "S" emblem too as it compliments the particular 2 seat convertible I outfitted with these.
I would not hesitate to recommend them. I also use Aerospace 303 UV protectant and conditioner on them which I consider necessary to ensure long service life of such materials exposed to the sun.
